The German Energy Industry looks across the Atlantic
The German American Energy Conference successfully presented the U.S. Market on March 22-23, 2010
German companies are well positioned to begin entering the lucrative U.S. market for renewable energies and energy efficiency. The 2nd German American Energy Conference offered information about current trends and support frameworks within the U.S. energy market, and how German companies can benefit from them. This event was organized by the German Energy Agency GmbH (dena) and the German American Chambers of Commerce (AHK USA).
The conference was opened by the Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, Rainer Brüderle. Federal Minister of Environment, Dr. Norbert Röttgen, spoke at the evening event. Other
speakers included United States Ambassador to Germany, Philip D. Murphy, Deputy Minister of the Federal Foreign Office, Dr. Peter Ammon, Special Envoy for Eurasian Affairs for U.S. President Barack Obama at the U.S. Department of State, Richard L. Morningstar, and Senior Policy & Communications Specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy, Scott Gregory Minos. With more than 500 experts in the political and economic fields taking part in the two day conference, the event was a big success.
The 2nd German American Energy Conference was generously funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). Solar Millennium AG was the exclusive Premium Sponsor. The conference was supported by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the Federal Foreign Office with the Transatlantic Climate Bridge, as well as by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the Federation of German Industries (BDI), and Germany Trade and Invest.
